The Bijenkorf (beehive) is an iconic department store, designed by architect Breuer. Last year, Rotterdamse Dakendagen placed a lavender garden on top of it. And this year we have something special planned as well: a zipline across the Coolsingel! Is this too much for you? Don’t worry, you can visit other areas of the rooftop with your ‘Dakpas’ (Rooftop Pass) and support the zipliners from there. More information about the zipline can be found here.

Rotterdam has The Bijenkorf to thank for two of its most famous artworks in public space: Ossip Zadkine’s ‘de verwoeste stad’ (the destroyed city) and Naum Gabo’s ‘Het Ding’ (the thing). Both were gifted to the city by the company.
