This mirrored office building on the northeast side of Hofplein is currently empty and will soon make way for the new residential complex RISE, which, with a 264-meter residential tower, will become the tallest residential project in the Netherlands. During the Rotterdam Roof Days 2026, we get to go up onto the roof here one last time. This is exactly the spot where a 1500 m² roof terrace will be located in the new residential complex.
Because this office building is already vacant, during your visit to this roof you have to with the stairs (!) Upwards. A challenging climb of 13 floors, so good physical condition is required. Once at the top, you are rewarded with a panoramic view over the Hofplein, giving you a clear view of the latest developments taking place here. The Hofplein is currently being completely transformed into a green, car-free city park.
Real estate company RED Company, owned by Nanne de Ru (also founder of architectural firm Powerhouse Company), has purchased this property as part of the RISE development, which is scheduled to start shortly. Other recent projects by Red Company include the Baantoren, currently under construction in the Cool district, and the Floating Offices in the Rijhaven.
