The blue-glass Weenahuis, situated on Hofplein and Coolsingel, was built in the 80s by Klunder Architecten, just like the adjacent Weena Tower (also known as 'the punch card'). This architectural firm designed several well-known 80s architectural works in Rotterdam. For instance, the three towers along the Boompjes, the former renovation of Theater Zuidplein, and the renovation of the Westelijk Handelsterrein in the Scheepvaartkwartier are by them.
From the rooftop of the building, you have an almost 360-degree view over Rotterdam Central Business District and all the transformations that will be realised there in the coming years. At the front, you see Hofplein, which is being transformed into a green urban oasis. At the rear, you look out over the entire Schiekadeblok, where you can take a stroll across our aerial route Walk The Block, and the adjacent terrain along the railway where, from this summer, Blue Zone Offices (also known as Schieblocks by designer MVRDV) must rise.
