“It will never be possible to make something truly great,” writes artist Maud van den Beuken. Yet, she experiences an urgency to try again and again. In her artistic practice she examines how we relate to the earth under our feet and the air above our heads.
Above the rooftops, the sky moves from cloudy, to bright blue, to the darkest of the night. In ‘THREE DAYS OF LIVE SKY’, by Maud van den Beuken, the sky appears to be a flat space, without any orientation towards buildings, locations or heights. In this work, the air from different roofs is broadcasted live in a live stream.
Maud investigated her fascination for the sky earlier in the project “mapping the sky”.
From Friday June 26 until June 29 we streamed the skies above Rotteram live on our website.
