Yes, you can visit the rooftop of Las Palmas During the two festival weekends (May 31st and June 1st, 7th, and 8th) from 11:00 to 18:00 (XNUMX AM to XNUMX PM). Las Palmas is one of our main locations this year. Here you can enjoy delicious food and drinks, enjoy the view, and attend free dance performances. Reservations are not required.

We can't estimate the severity of your fear of heights. However, it's good to know that we have permits for all the rooftops at the festival and take extensive measures to ensure your visit is safe. We know some people find some of the rooftops a bit daunting, and the program section on that rooftop's page will indicate that you shouldn't have a fear of heights if you choose to visit.

This year, we've decided not to sell a general ticket that allows you to visit multiple rooftops. Instead, we're offering a unique experience on each rooftop: you'll join a small group and be welcomed by a host. On the rooftop, you'll hear a story, see a performance, or participate in an activity. You reserve these rooftop visits for a specific location and time.

So you book each program component separately and put together your experience in advance.

Tickets are available for purchase starting April 17th at 12:00 PM. All program details are now available online.

A visit to a rooftop typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes. For performances or special events, the exact duration is listed on the program page.

Yes, you can! You decide on the roof whether to take the slide or the stairs. If the slide isn't available due to weather conditions, you'll definitely take the stairs.

A ticket for the Rooftop Roetsj costs €7,50. There are no discount tickets available.

Children under 2 years old do not require tickets unless they occupy a seat or cannot be carried. You must be at least 120 cm tall to use the slide. Sliding with a child under 120 cm is not permitted. Please note: you are also not allowed to use the slide with a baby in a baby carrier. In that case, you must exit the roof via the stairs.

The Rotterdam Rooftop Days team designed the slide and is building it in collaboration with various partners, including scaffolders and structural engineers. The structure consists primarily of wood and scaffolding. Before the event begins, the slide will be inspected by a qualified authority to assess the safety of your visit. Without this certificate, the slide will not open.

No, the slide ends at a pontoon in Leuvehaven. So you won't get wet.

A visit is expected to take approximately 45 minutes.

You can get snacks and drinks at the Maritime Museum's Museum Café: Het Lage LichtPlease note: opening hours may differ from those of the Rooftop Roetsj.

Visitors to the Rooftop Roetsj can use portable toilets in the outdoor area behind the museum. If you also have a ticket for the museum itself, you are, of course, also welcome to use the restroom inside. Visitors with physical disabilities are always welcome to use the special restroom in the Maritime Museum, even without a ticket for the museum itself.

The slide is almost 100 meters long.

Tickets for the Rotterdam Rooftop Days can be purchased online exclusively through this website. There are no other ticket providers. You can pay via iDeal or credit card.

During the Rotterdam Rooftop Days, you can also buy tickets at the ticket desk at our information points. The Rooftop Roetsj information point is located in the lighthouse behind the museum. It is open during the rooftop's opening hours (10:00 AM to 19:15 PM from May 29th to June 9th, except June 2nd and 3rd).

There's also a Rotterdam Rooftop Days information point in Las Palmas. It's open from 11:00 AM to 18:00 PM on Saturday, May 31st, Sunday, June 1st, Saturday, June 7th, and Sunday, June 8th.

At both information points, information is available about all the programme components of the Rotterdam Rooftop Days.

You can arrive at the venue from the entry time ("Doors Open" on your ticket) until the event's start time. Only during this time are you guaranteed admission. You'll find these times on your ticket.

At the Rooftop Roetsj, we use time slots. Your ticket indicates a 30-minute time slot. You must arrive at the venue within these 30 minutes. If you arrive late, we cannot guarantee admission.

Tickets for the Rooftop Roetsj should be presented at the stairs to the rooftop, at the back of the Maritime Museum (Leuvehaven 1). Tickets for other program components will be checked at the program location itself. You never need to visit a ticket office to exchange anything; you can always go directly to the location.

Unfortunately, we cannot exchange your tickets for another time.

Tickets for sold-out events or time slots are not available at the door. However, you can purchase remaining tickets at our information points during the festival.

This varies by rooftop. If there's a minimum age, it's stated on the program component's webpage. If there's no minimum age, children under 16 must always be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of two children per adult.

There's no minimum age, but there is a minimum height of 120 centimeters. Please note: parents and children are not allowed to use the slide together. You must always slide solo and on a special slide mat. Children go first, followed by the responsible adult. You can always decide to take the stairs down on the roof instead of the slide. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult until the end of their visit; they cannot use the stairs alone.

No, this isn't allowed because you're not allowed to take large objects up. You can bring babies in a baby carrier, unless there's a minimum age requirement for a rooftop. Children are not allowed on the rooftop unsupervised and we estimate that one supervisor cannot adequately supervise more than two children at a time.

Note: on rooftops where an age restriction applies (minimum 12 years or minimum 15 years), children up to 2 years old are NOT ALLOWED onto the rooftop.

You are not allowed to go down the slide at the Maritime Museum with a baby in a baby carrier.

Our programs will continue as usual even if it rains. We will only close rooftops in hazardous weather conditions. In that case, all ticket holders will receive an email about their visit as soon as possible.

In wet weather, the slide must be temporarily closed. Your ticket for the exhibition on the roof of the Maritime Museum remains valid for the same time slot, and it is non-exchangeable. At the end of your visit, please take the stairs down.

In the event of hazardous weather, we seek expert advice. We will decide whether rooftops will remain open, with safety as our top priority. If rooftops are no longer accessible, ticket holders will be notified by email as soon as possible.

Your ticket is only valid for the specific time slot stated on it. This will not change if the weather is bad. You cannot exchange your ticket due to rain. However, you are welcome to come anyway, bringing an umbrella or raincoat.

That's certainly possible, but keep in mind that you'll spend at least 60 minutes at the location for a rooftop visit. Travel time isn't included. Some program components (such as performances or film screenings) can take longer, so pay attention to the program duration on the website. Allow a reasonable amount of time for this if you're combining different program components.

Whether you can use an elevator and/or have to climb stairs frequently varies by roof. Information about roof accessibility (including wheelchair accessibility) can be found on each roof's page. You can also filter rooftops by different accessibility levels.

We make places accessible that are normally inaccessible. This means, in many cases, that it's unfortunately not feasible to make our programs wheelchair accessible. Where possible, we do our best to make it happen. On the page listing all rooftops, you can filter by rooftops that are wheelchair accessible. If a rooftop isn't listed as wheelchair accessible, it isn't.

Our house rules state that in the event of an emergency, we will use verbal instructions in Dutch and English. It is essential that visitors can understand these instructions or attend our events with someone who can.

The Rooftop Roetsj is an exhibition without auditory elements, making it particularly suitable for deaf or hearing-impaired visitors.

We recommend that all visually impaired or blind visitors be accompanied by a sighted person during their visit. All rooftops are by barriers of some sort, but much of the safety and exhibition information is provided in written form.

On the page with all rooftops You can see which rooftops require lots of stair climbing. You'll also sometimes see program components that require visitors to be physically fit. Pets are not allowed on the roof, but guide dogs or other assistance dogs are. We appreciate it if you contact us in advance via info@rotterdamsedakendagen.nl, so that we can inform the people on location about your arrival and guarantee the safety of people and animals.

At the Rooftop Roetsj, visitors who require access may use the Maritime Museum's adapted toilet. Please note: this is only for visitors with a physical disability. Other visitors can use the portable toilets outside, unless they also have a ticket for the Maritime Museum.

Coming from outside Rotterdam? Then park at one of the P+R lots and continue your journey to the Dakendagen (Rooftop Days) by metro. Convenient P+R locations include Slinge, Kralingse Zoom, Alexander, Capelsebrug, Hoogvliet, Meijersplein, and Melanchtonweg. If you're continuing your journey with a public transport chip card (OV-chipkaart), parking at the P+R is free.
