House rules

To ensure a safe and pleasant visit, the Rotterdam Rooftop Days organizers have established a number of house rules. These apply at all locations. The purpose of these rules is to ensure the safety of all visitors and employees.

General House Rules Rotterdam Rooftop Days

By entering the festival locations, you automatically agree to the following house rules:

  • Feel free to be yourself, but always consider others.
  • Always follow the instructions of the crew and emergency services.
  • Look around you carefully and take safety precautions seriously.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
One adult may accompany a maximum of two children.
  • Stay within the fences and railings, do not climb on or over them.
  • Do not throw objects near a roof edge or railing and watch out for loose items.
  • Wear flat shoes that allow you to stand securely and walk comfortably (including up and down stairs). You are not allowed on the roof wearing heels or flip-flops without heel straps.
  • Unless otherwise indicated, the use of drugs or alcohol, or being under the influence of alcohol, is prohibited during your visit. At locations where alcohol is served, there is extra supervision, and excessive consumption may result in denial of entry.
  • Smoking is prohibited on all rooftops, including vapes and other electronic cigarettes.
  • Pets are not allowed, but assistance and guide dogs are always welcome.
  • Strollers, suitcases, and large bags are not allowed on the roof.
  • Some rooftops have additional requirements for visitors, such as a minimum age, required physical fitness, or good mobility. These are stated in advance in the relevant program section on the website and always relate to on-site safety and the ability to evacuate in the event of an emergency.
  • Visitors who cannot independently hear, understand or follow verbal instructions from the crew (in Dutch and English) must be accompanied by someone who can (at least one guide per person).

Entering the locations is entirely at your own risk. Rotterdam Rooftop Days and participating building owners are not liable for any damage to visitors or third parties resulting from participation in activities.
