Skateable art

The City of Rotterdam has developed the Masterplan Rotterdam Skate City, a “map of opportunities” showing all current and potential skate spots, along with agreements between skaters and other users of public space. To show that skating is not a source of nuisance in itself, but a healthy way to inhabit lively and safe public spaces.

As part of this masterplan, the city wants to test how skate interventions in public space can have an impact, during the Rotterdam Rooftop Days and at other locations. With that in mind, the design collective Deadcat created three skateable art objects.
