It’s hard to see, but across from Blaak lies the water of the Leuvekolk. Since Blaak has been filled in, the water flows underground through a large pipe to the Leuvehaven. To help fish make this crossing, a fish passage has been built, designed by BOOM Landscape.
Stickleback, carp, and glass eels face a strong current and a height difference of 1 meter 26 here. That’s impossible without assistance. However, they can cross via the fish ladder.
