Fish swim under the square

On Plein 1940, you'll see a blue line drawn. A few meters below this line runs a large pipe that connects the water from the Rotte River, the namesake of our city, to the Nieuwe Maas via the Leuvekolk (on the other side of Westblaak) and the Leuvehaven. The water usually flows from the Rotte to the Nieuwe Maas, but sometimes the other way around during high water levels. And the fish? They swim in both directions, too.
