RIDCC Brings Back: Land Before Time met ‘Waterkind’

Choreographer duo Yared & Joanna, under the name Land Before Time, will present their performance Waterkind on the rooftop of Las Palmas on Sunday June 1. The performance is free to attend. Yared & Yoanna are former participants of RIDCC and will be brought back to Rotterdam in collaboration with Dansateliers and Aerowaves for a number of outdoor location performances. And also on our rooftop!

Waterkind is a duet that explores the interaction and connection between two bodies without direct physical contact. How can we experience the sensation of connection and mutual understanding of the next movement through improvisation? Both proximity and space are essential, with a continuous focus on vibrations and responsiveness. Individual explosions and outbursts take place, while both performers maintain a close relationship with each other. The next movement is strongly dependent on the previous one. Water serves as a source of inspiration for shaping the flows, combined with freestyle and elements of popping, it results in specific material encapsulated in the piece. Waterkind is a meditation on receptivity, proximity and space.

RIDCC Brings Back

RIDCC presents RIDCC Brings Back, this year in collaboration with Dansateliers. Former participants who have developed significantly in recent years and with whom RIDCC feels a strong bond, will be given a place at the event. This year, the choreographer duo Yared & Joanna (winners of the Dansateliers and the Korzo Partner Award 2024) will return with a location performance at Schouwburgplein (3 June) and then during Rotterdam Rooftop Days.
