Rooftop Film Night with IFFR

From Thursday, June 5 to Sunday, June 8, you can enjoy a series of film screenings under the stars on the rooftop of Las Palmas. In collaboration with four of Rotterdam’s major film institutions—Roffa Mon Amour, IFFR, LantarenVenster, and KINO—we’re hosting an open-air cinema experience with the Rotterdam skyline as a breathtaking backdrop.

On Friday, June 6, in collaboration with IFFR, we’re screening the thriller Good Time (2017, 100 min.) by Benny & Joshua Safdie.

You’re welcome on the rooftop from 8:30 PM for a drink with a view over the Nieuwe Maas. The film starts at 9:30 PM.

About the film

Good Time is a hypnotic crime thriller about family and fate. The Safdie Brothers (Benny and Joshua) deliver an adrenaline rush and take you on a night in New York you won’t soon forget. In the spirit of Scorsese and Coppola, they bring raw, cutting-edge cinema.

After a failed bank robbery in which his younger brother Nick (played by Benny Safdie) is arrested, Connie (played by Robert Pattinson) desperately tries to gather bail money to get Nick out. His plan quickly unravels in spectacular fashion, dragging everyone and everything into the violent chaos that ensues.

Robert Pattinson (Twilight, Maps to the Stars) is mesmerizing as Connie and never lets go of the viewer. Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight) also falls for his raw intensity. Good Time was selected for the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Best Soundtrack Award.
