Rooftop Film Night with Kino

From Thursday, June 5 to Sunday, June 8, you can enjoy a series of film screenings under the stars on the rooftop of Las Palmas. In collaboration with four of Rotterdam’s major film institutions—Roffa Mon Amour, IFFR, LantarenVenster, and KINO—we’re hosting an open-air cinema experience with the Rotterdam skyline as a breathtaking backdrop.

On Sunday, June 8, in collaboration with KINO, we’re screening the ice-cold action thriller Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995, 121 min), directed by John McTiernan. We’re celebrating the 30th anniversary of this film, the third installment in the Die Hard series.

You’re welcome on the rooftop from 8:30 PM for a drink with a view of the Nieuwe Maas. The film starts at 9:30 PM.

About the film
“No code, no riddle, no fancy little countdown…” Director John McTiernan’s triumphant return to the Die Hard franchise was a blessing—for both the director and this third installment. After making film history in the late ’80s with the iconic action trilogy Predator, Die Hard, and The Hunt for Red October, McTiernan hit a rough patch in the ’90s with Medicine Man and Last Action Hero. The second John McClane film (Die Harder) couldn’t quite match the brilliance of the original, so the stakes were high. Fortunately, Die Hard with a Vengeance turned out to be the sequel everyone was hoping for: a McClane home game, a high-speed thriller that makes full use of the incredible urban locations (including plenty of rooftops!) and the effortless comedic chemistry between Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson. The result? One of the best action films of that decade—or any decade. KINO is proud to partner with Rotterdam Rooftop Days to present this film on the occasion of its 30th anniversary at this stunning rooftop location with panoramic views.
