The Van Nelle Fabriek is located along the Delfshavense Schie on the border with Schiedam and was built in 1925 by architects Brinkman & Van der Vlugt.
It is an iconic example of the Nieuwe Bouwen style and has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2014. The Van Nelle Fabriek was once the most modern factory in the Netherlands and the first daylight factory in Europe, providing daylight on the factory floor.
The era of coffee, tea, and tobacco from the renowned Van Nelle company is over. The building now serves as an office complex, event venue, and museum. On the rooftop, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Rotterdam West, Schiedam, and Midden-Delfland.
