Welcome! This is the general page for volunteers of the Rotterdamse Dakendagen. We will be back in 2027 with a new edition. Would you like to get involved as a volunteer for our festival? Then send an email to vrijwilligers@rotterdamsedakendagen.nl in advance, and we will add your name to our contact list. In early 2027, we will start putting together our crew again, and you will receive the official registration form.

Why should I volunteer?

It's simple: volunteers make these kinds of festivals and events possible in Rotterdam. Our mission is to use Rotterdam's rooftops for the benefit of all its residents. And anyone who goes up onto the roof will feel welcomed by the cheerful hospitality of dedicated people who care deeply about the city and its residents. That's why we want to ensure that volunteering for Rotterdam Rooftop Days is an unforgettable experience, filled with exclusive rooftops, beautiful views, and a strong sense of teamwork.

What does Rotterdam Rooftop Days expect from volunteers?

As a volunteer, you'll be the first point of contact for the Rotterdam Rooftop Days, helping visitors by scanning their tickets, answering questions, and providing directions. You'll become part of the festival team, and we hope you can work at least two to three shifts (up to eight hours each), but fewer is also possible. You might also be asked to help clean up or decorate a venue. Your physical limitations will always be respected. Our coordinators will monitor this for you and will be your point of contact before and after the festival. A positive and proactive attitude is important, so it's essential that you enjoy your shift. The goal is to create a fantastic experience for visitors and ourselves.

What does my volunteer experience look like and what do I get in return?

In return for your support, you'll receive a goodie bag from the RDD team containing an RDD t-shirt, lunch, snacks, and drinks for the entire day. You'll also be the guest of honor at an exclusive rooftop event for the festival team (more on that later!). Before the festival, we'd like to invite all volunteers to the official volunteer meeting, a no-obligation introduction to all the volunteers and the rest of the RDD team. This year, as a volunteer, you'll also receive a face book by email, listing all the RDD staff and location managers you can contact. The volunteer meeting will take place mid-May place, specifically the time and location will follow in a separate email to the volunteers.

How do I get scheduled?

We use the Stager scheduling and ticketing system to schedule our volunteers. This allows you to choose the shift that best suits your availability online. Never worked with Stager before? No worries! We've created a manual that explains how Stager works in just a few steps. Have you worked with Stager before and aren't comfortable with it? Please let us know on the registration form (or send an email to volunteers@rotterdamsedakendagen.nl If you have already registered, we will help you by scheduling you manually.
