RE:Set (danssolo)

RE:Set is the movement diary of someone who finds home in many places. It’s about the loneliness, the dissociation and the joy of being a stranger. About shifting between different places, different realities and different modes of existing. From fully immersed to distantly observing. Transformation through repetition. This solo is an anxious attempt to avoid sensory numbness, and a reminder to play.

SENSING ROOFTOPS – Door Yassine Abouhamid i.s.m. Ilja Geelen

Ilja’s rehearsals for RE:Set on her rooftop in Morocco, inspired filmmaker Yassine Abouhamid to make a short film. In Sensing Rooftops the film maker and the dancer embark on an exploration of rooftops in Morocco and the Netherlands. You will watch this film as an introduction before the solo, to outline the inspiring Moroccan rooftop landscape that Ilja has worked in and to see Dutch rooftops through new eyes.
